Manchester Pop Fest

Manchester Popfest is a new festival which will be held over two days on August 15th and 16th at Kraak Gallery and Islington Mill respectively, featuring a mixture of bands, art and film screenings. Tickets are £13.50 per day, or £22.50 for both days. The line-up for Saturday so far includes: KEEL HER Lo-fi bedroom pop from Brighton, referencing R Stevie Moore, Beat Happening and Ariel Pink. Slowcoaches London-based Noise Pop three piece, bringing to mind Sonic Youth/ Dinosaur Jnr etc. Spinning Coin New Glasgow band from members of Plaaydoh/ Smack Wizards with a sound reminiscent of Postcard or early Flying Nun Records. Seeds of Doubt London scuzz-pop band influenced by Blur, Pavement and the Clean. SOFT DRINKS London DIY pop from former members of Waterworld/ Sir Yes Sir. FREEDOM SCREECH Local lo-fi Shoegaze/ noise pop two-piece influenced by Flying Saucer Attack and Galaxie 500. All Good Things: Charity Fundraiser The All Good Things crew invite you to Kraak for a fun filled night of comedy, live music, and DJ’s to take you through the night. With some of the funniest and most talented up and coming comedians, musicians, DJ’s and Producers performing on the night this is a night not to be missed. DJ’s bringing you a range of music from Reggae, Ska, Funk, House, UK Garage and Drum n Bass to keep you dancing till the early hours of the morning: Lend Me Your Ears, Senor Prezidente, Mike Boote, Dee-p and Yas. With live music from Old House Playgrounds’s Tryfo Lazos.
