‘Eva Plays Dead have been recognized for their powerful female vocals, edgy lyrics, catchy guitar rock riffs and their powerhouse rhythm section. The band, made up of Tiggy Dockerty (Vocals), Matt Gascoyne (Guitar), Zach Shannon (Bass) and Seb Boyse (Drums), makes audiences across the country question how just 4 people can make such a noise.

Eva Plays Dead is the product of 4 young, hardworking musicians, who have made themselves an established, well-known act across the UK due to their hard working ethos and commitment to constantly tour up and down the country, playing at venues and festivals both large and small. The band have passed many obstacles and milestones under their previous guise, leading up to where they are now, including several changes of line up, musical direction and the do’s and don’ts of a touring act. As a result, they re-launched under the new name ‘Eva Plays Dead’ in January 2013 to suit the ‘final product’, with an album which was released shortly after in March 2013 through Artifex Records and with an ever growing list of gigs, the four piece rock band plan to carry on doing what they have always done and take their music to the road.

Having already released two very successful singles with accompanying music videos, which lead to the band being featured on the MySpace homepage, the Muzu TV homepage as ‘Muzu Recommends: Breaking Artist’ and the homepage of Glasswerk, alongside a collection of support from radio stations across the UK, including Kerrang! Radio, and great reviews from a range of webzines, the debut album ‘Guilt Trips & Sins,’  from Eva Plays Dead, released in March 2013 through Artifex Records has so far received raving reviews from a range of webzines and fans, including a 10/10 from PlanetMosh. The initial album release was supported by a full UK tour comprising of 11 dates, booked and promoted by the band themselves, included dates in Stafford, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham, Cambridge, London and a sold out local show at Rock City Basement, Nottingham. Having already released the singles “We’re Gonna Make it” and “Secret” taken from the album, to which you can find accompanying music videos on YouTube, the band are currently recording their new EP and considering plans for the release. Although they have had interest from record labels, the band are still shopping around and the idea of an independent release is still an option.

From classic influences ranging from Guns ‘N’ Roses, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Rancid, Black Flag and Motorhead to modern rock bands including Foo Fighters, The Wonder Years, Heaven’s Basement and local favourites LostAlone, combined with the storytelling of great jazz artists which influence Tiggy’s lyrics including Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald, the band have created their own, unmistakable brand of rock music. Powerful vocals, full throttle rock and feisty guitar riffs sum up the band.  The band pride their selves on their live performances and make sure that they deliver a full stage show which excites all the audiences senses.’
