Hogslayer / Lacertilia

That’s right, sludge metal titans Hogslayer and psych rock overlords Lacertilia are leaving their caves in Wales to play a few dates across the UK . This is a recipe for trouble . . . things will get ugly . . in a beautiful kind of way. We hereby invite you to witness the spectacle, forget everything you once knew and come lose your shit with us . . . .

HOGSLAYER are a sludge quintet based in the UK. They formed in 2012 and feature members of British metalcore forerunners Shaped By Fate and sludge/doom instrumentalists Zonderhoof.

They’ve carved a gaping wound in the South Wales heavy scene and have been seen destroying stages with the likes of Raging Speedhorn, Dopethrone, Gurt, Pist and Slabdragger.

Hogslayer were selected for Bloodstock Festival in August 2014 where they went down a storm and have since gone on to play Riff Fest in Bolton and headline Hub Fest in Cardiff.

Hogslayer are due to release their second album, on Undergroove Records, this coming May and the first single ‘Despiser’ was recenty hosted by Metal Hammer.

LACERTILIA are are a tripped out rock n roll machine from South Wales that brings together the manic stomp and wild stage performance of The Stooges, the fuzzy desert sounds of Kyuss, the weird psychedelic frequencies of The 13th Floor Elevators and the proto doom of Pentagram . . .

Featuring members of cult bands The Witches Drum, Shaped By Fate, Culver and Akb’al, Lacertilia are a strange alchemy of styles that blend to create something unique and refreshing.

So far they’ve shared the stage with bands like Bloody Hammers, Sir Admiral Cloudsley Shovell, Peter Pan Speedrock, AOS3 and Suns Of Thunder as well as making appearances at Surplus Festival in Wales and The Wreck n Roll circus in London.

Lacertilia’s debut EP ‘Crashing Into The Future’ was self released on Jan 10th. The title track was featured on Adam Walton’s best of 2014 show on BBC Radio Wales and their first video was the featured track on Mr Stone Believers’ YouTube channel.
