DEPT and zimZalla present an evening of Poetry and Performance.

Tonight will see the double launch of Archeus by Wayne Clements (DEPT press) and Poetea by Jo Langton (zimZalla).

Also, multi-disciplinary artist Matt Dalby, who has had work published by both DEPT and zimZalla, will be performing a specially commissioned piece.


Wayne Clements is a writer and artist living in London. He was first published in the 1990s by Bob Cobbing’s Writers Forum Press. His recent poetry books include ‘Clerical Work’ (2010, published by Veer) and ‘Western Philosophy’ (2011, published by Knives, Forks and Spoons Press). ‘Archeus’ was published by DEPT in June 2012. Wayne has also exhibited his new media artwork internationally, including, Athens, Tokyo, Madrid, and Bergen. In 2006 he received the Award of Distinction at Ars Electronica. He holds a PhD in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design, where he researched computer methods of generating text.

Matt Dalby is a multidisciplinary artist based in Manchester. Since returning in January from a visual art residency in China he has mainly concentrated on music, with full-length and EP downloads released in spring. He is currently working on a concentrated visual art project

Jo Langton recently completed her MA in Experimental Writing at the University of Salford, Manchester. She has a chapbook entitled [fill the silence] out with erbacce-press, and has been published online in Streetcake, Department, 3.A.M, The Ofi Press, Bare Hands & The Railroad Poetry Project. She is the joint editor of Establishment magazine.

zimZalla is a publishing project intermittently releasing objects. Recent projects include a text generation board game, unique microtexts in test tubes and visual poetry ceramic coasters.
