Sauce, Alden Tyrell

Friday 7 Feb
Martijn Hoggendijk, AKA Alden Tyrell began his historic relationship with electronic music back in the golden era when Electro and Italo were in their infancy. He picked up his first synthesizer in the early ’80s and has been obsessively collecting them ever since. For most people, Tyrell is known as one of the leading lights in the Italo resurgence of the last decade, with his trademark tracks “Disco Lunar Module”, “Love Explosion” and “Rendez-Vous at Rimini” becoming contemporary electronic classics. More recently he’s been turning his hand to Chicago tinged, jacking burners, that can be heard in his “Jack for Daze” series…

You’ll probably find the name Alden Tyrell credited on more Clone records than anyone else, whether as a producer, collaborator or mastering engineer. Over the years he’s become an integral part of the Rotterdam based label and its various offshoots. No wonder then, it was Tyrell who was called upon to re-master the works of the mighty Drexciya…

Manchesters’ Miguel Manzano will also getting in on the action as he joins residents Dave Owen & Asher Jones in support.  Doors 11pm and Tickets £6
