Recently selling out a performance at The Lowry of her Edinburgh show with her mother, Jana is heading to the Sham Bodie which will also no doubt be a sell out. Possessing fantastic timing and a natural comic ability she is a great talent to keep an eye on.
Young singer songwriter Chris Tavener has been impressing on the North West folk scene for sometime with his folksy satirical storytelling style. Dylan-esque in his performances he has also been in love with our host Ben Tonge for some time. So much so that he has written a loving song for him. It’s only a little creepy.
ALLYSON JUNE SMITH
Canadian comic Allyson June Smith has proven her comedy chops in her native land and so has come to conquer our fair comedy lands. If you’ve seen her then you’ll be aware that she is well on her way. Mixing girl next door charm with, quite frankly, a mouth like a sailor. She is an amazing stand up who has toured with fellow cannuck Stewart Francis. We’re delighted to have her on.
MR SUSIE’S MR & MRS
Extra-terrestrial odd bod Mr Susie appeared at our first Sham Bodie many moons ago and since then he’s only gotten more confused with the human world. And since it’s Valentine’s Day two days later we thought we’d have him play a special Sham Bodie version of The Newlyweds Game. Having already hosted his own game show on the internet (Cheeky Flippin’ Nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuYIvHJXvNw) so he’s obviously a perfect fit for this segment.
