Mind on Fire, PAUL WHITE feat. MO KOLOURS (live)...

Good Friday 29th March 2013 PAUL WHITE feat. MO KOLOURS (live) // APE CULT // DANNY DRIVE THRU // BLOODBOY // DAN NATION // FIGURE OF WAX // DWAYNE DIBLEY + more. THIS CITY IS ON FIRE. 9pm – 4am £5 advance, MOTD In preparation for our collaboration at Sounds From The Other City in May, Mind on Fire and This City Is Ours team up for an Easter special at Kraak Gallery. We are very excited to present the Manchester debut for Paul White’s new live project – with Mo Kolours on drums and a saxophonist joining Paul on stage. Support comes from Manchester’s own Ape Cult and Danny Drive Thru, as well as residents from This City Is Ours and Mind on Fire. Praised as someone who “embodies all that is good about a new generation of producers” (Dazed & Confused), Paul White has won over fans of left-leaning hip-hop, including Diplo, Mary Anne Hobbs, Benji B and Gilles Peterson. His 2009 debut album “The Strange Dreams of Paul White” introduced a hip-hop producer with a deft touch, a quirky sense of humour and a refreshing lack of regard for the conventions of the genre, with the sampling of prog, psychedelic rock, reggae and the abandoned vinyl of English charity shops. This playfulness and world-class production can be heard on the acclaimed album “Paul White & The Purple Brain”, co-released by both ‘One-Handed’ and Los Angeles-based ‘Now Again’, a sister label of Stones Throw Records, and 2011’s fantastic “Rapping With Paul White” which features collaborations with Guilty Simpson, Jehst, Danny Brown and Homeboy Sandman among others. http://onehandedmusic.com/artist/paul-white/...
