WORK THEM & GREY LANTERN PRESENT HALLS...

MARCH 9TH 11.00PM-4.00AM TICKETS £4 ADV. http://www.wegottickets.com/event/152975 Work Them and Grey Lantern are delighted to be teaming up to bring one of their favourite fast-rising artists to Manchester for the first time as we welcome London-based producer Halls and his live band for a special edition of the monthly Work Them club night. Halls a.k.a Sam Howard’s nocturnally evocative electronica has found blogging flavour of countrywide for almost a year now, ever since he made available his first self-titled EP available on Bandcamp in March 2011. With latest release ‘Fragile’ being put out on the boutique Brighton label The Sounds Of Sweet Nothing as well as remix work last year for the likes of buzz acts Sun Glitters and Theme Park, as well as Gold Panda, Howard’s profile is on a constant ascent. Playing one of his first shows with a new full live band, tonight promises to be a special show from one of the UK’s most touted young musicians. You can stream ‘Fragile’ here: http://thesoundsofsweetnothing.bandcamp.com/album/fragile-ep [bandcamp album=255405679 bgcol=FFFFFF linkcol=4285BB size=venti] Alongside Halls, Work Them’s regular DJs will be joined by Grey Lantern to warm up and take it off in around our very special live act, promising some of the most exciting and alternative records new and old, focusing on everything from shoegaze and psych to shameless beats and weirdo electronica, dashed with leftfield pop and club classics. http://www.workthemclub.blogspot.com/ http://greylantern.tumblr.com/ Kraak  11 Stevenson Square, M1 1DB Manchester, United Kingdom View map · Get...

Work Them with PATTEN...

After Still Corners from 11pm we have them WORK THEM til late. Forward thinking, backwards glimpsing alternative and electronic clubnight featuring a live set from PATTEN. Tickets – £4 – http://www.wegottickets.com/event/148260   featuring music from Burial, Beach House, Joe Goddard, Seahawks and more. Work Them – Seasonal Affective Disco #1 by Work Them Anyway, all’s well at our end. In fact, we’re ready to announce the first of several artists we have lined up to compliment our usual clubnight bizznezz, namely Patten. Having released one of the most promising, distinctive and diverse albums of the past 12 months in the shape of GLAQJO XAACSSO on No Pain in Pop, we’re very pleased to bring Patten to Kraak Gallery for his debut live show in Manchester. And we hope to see you there, and then, the then being 3rd February. A one man force of experimental, but fluid electronica Patten’s music is both blissful and baffling, recalling such broad influences as Broadcast and Aphex Twin – jittering, unpredictable beats layered above striking shoegaze guitar work. Matching his recorded output, Patten’s live show is a raw blend both digital and analogue influences, as anyone who saw him earlier this year on Boiler Room will surely attest. Full ticket details, artwork and so on are to follow later this month, but for now, check out Patten’s stunning and eclectic FACT mix for a 40 minute preview covering his influences and favourite records, each chopped up and compressed into his distinctive style....
