The Things,10 Mouth Electron and Holy Pinto

thethingsSeminal Manchester band The Things were formed in 1979.
The band played Saint John’s college, Russel club, Band on the wall, Manchester poly and dozens of gigs at other venues in and around Manchester and Northwest.
In 1980 they were approached at a gig at Salford Poly by John Maher and Richard Boon at the time drummer and manager of Buzzcocks.
John asked if the Things would consider recording the first release on his planned record label.
The band agreed and John joined the line up as drummer.
A support to the Buzzcocks on their UK tour followed.
The Things recorded the single the only release on Imperial records and recorded a session for Mark Radcliffe’s ‘Transmission’ radio show.
A distribution deal was planned with ‘Din-disc’ a subsidiary of ‘Virgin records’ which could have lead to an album, but, Din-disc went with OMD amongst others!

Also on the bill are 10 Mouth Electron who are making a return to Kraak after playing here earlier this year at The Manchester Cunning Folk Festival, as well as Holy Pinto who released their EP ‘Brunswick Mill’ earlier this year.
